Ghee is medicine for our digestion

Ghee is medicine for our digestion, immune system and skin. Only the purest Ghee should be making its way to our homes. Ayurveda discovered the role of Ghee in well-being centuries ago. So beneficial is this cow milk fat that vaidyas have given it the status of a Rasayana, or a pre- eminent healing food.

Ghee is everywhere in Indian life. For centuries, Indian women  have used carbon from Ghee-lamps as protective eyeliner. Mothers massage their newborns with it, to make their skin supple. It can transport particles into cells,  many Ayurvedic formulations use it  a base. It is the cow milk that lights the lamps of temples. So, no other milk fat is considered more auspicious.

Ghee is a light fat. You would imagine ghee is a heavy fat. It’s not. What is Ghee, you may ask. It is dehydrated milk-butter without its solids. To make Ghee, manufacturers heat milk butter on a slow fire. All the water slowly evaporates. The liquid with a rich creamy look is ghee. Bonus: it is so flavourful that just a teaspoon will do more than four tablespoons of any other cooking oil. It contains the highly elusive nutrient vitamin k2. Vitamin k2 is the shuttle than transports calcium into your bones. You can eat as much calcium as you want. But it won’t strengthen your bones unless it is accompanied by vitamin k2. It contains a significant level of butyric acid, an anti-carcinogenic short-chain fatty acid. Butyric acid is also a biological response modifier, a substance that arouses the body’s response to infection. Adulterate ghee or oil causes obesity. And obesity brings with it many other health complications.

It is thus to put an end to all doubts and adulteration that  Patanjali Ayurved introduces nutritious and granular desi Ghee that is untouched by hand and made with only milk fat from cow’s milk. It has a very high smoke point and doesn’t burn easily during cooking. It has more stable saturated bonds and so is a lot less likely to form dangerous free radicals when cooking. Ghee’s short chain fatty acids are also metabolized very readily by the body. It is most notably said to stimulate the secretion of stomach acids to help with digestion. Whereas other fats, such as butter and oils, slow down the digestive process and can sit heavy in the stomach. In addition to Ghee’s nutritional value, it is rich with antioxidants and acts as an aid in the absorption of vitamins and minerals from other food, feeding all layers of body tissue and serving to strengthen the immune system. So embrace the sheer goodness of pure golden Ghee from that is 100% natural and unadulterated. The purity and quality of it, a product that we consume daily, is safe in the hands of patanjali. By PATANJALI
