The world needs now is for the parents of today’s children to step up and teach their children. And they will be respectful, caring, and compassionate children. They will one day turn into responsible adults.

 Schooling has direct effects on children’s educational achievement, their acquisition of literacy, numeracy and scientific knowledge. These basic skills provide the foundation for later “Subjects’’ such as geography, physics and foreign  languages. Formal educational qualifications are the key to a child’s entry into higher education or training and also employment.

The learning of specific knowledge and skills is a direct effect of classroom teaching. And so these may be just as powerful in predicting alter outcome as intelligence or school curriculum. Such indirect effects of school are more elusive. Because children’s motivation to learn or avoid learning, their conception of themselves as pupils, and the attributions they create for explaining success and failure. Cognitive and motivational  mediators of indirect effects continue to exert influence on individual development outside and beyond school.

It makes sense that students would do better when they learn in positive environments. After all, most people would agree that some environments are more conducive to learning and academic performance. A student taking a test in a quiet, peaceful room wil almost certainly do better than a student tking the same test in a loud, chaotic room.

There are a number of factors which contribute to a positive environment in a school like:

  • Safety and order

  • Teacher relationships and collaboration

  • Academic expectations

  • Leadership and professional development

Students attend  safe schools with expectation to form positive relationships with their teachers and pees have a notable advantage over students who attend schools without these beneficial trait.

The character of children’s home circumstances influence their intellectual development and school learning. A great deal of research on the relationship between  home background and scholastic behavior has been   carried out since the beginning of this century.

Studies indicate that children who do well in school come from families that provide a supportive and enriched environment for learning in the home. Conversely, children who do less well in school often come from families in which support  for school learning Is limited. Or in which there are serious differences and discontinuities between what is taught at home.

The socioeconomic level of a home need not determine how well a child does at school. Parents with different levels of education,  income, or occupational status can provide very stimulating home environments. It also support and encourage the learning of their children.
