Yik Yak isn’t new, but it’s grown in popularity on college campuses over the past couple of years. What makes it click is that it allows you to anonymously share your thoughts with people nearby, and posts can get up voted if they are interesting, which ensures that the most popular posts make it to the top of your feed a la Reddit.

A fun, lighthearted mish mash of the best elements of Facebook, Snapchat, Tumblr and Slack, Peach takes a very different approach to social. Sure much like Facebook, you add friends rather than followers, but unlike Facebook’s rich set of apps, posts on peach are limited to simple messages, albeit ones with tags for what music’s playing, how the weather is or an emoji to describe how you’re feeling. More importantly, everything you post within Peach  is contained entirely within the app or any way to view posts publicly on the Internet.
